The reduction of the spring travel demands a specific spring characteristic, derived from Motorsports. The VOGTLAND-Compound-Spring consists of two different spring rates: a starting and an end rate. These are specially calibrated for your cobalt. The balanced and interacting characteristics of these lowering springs stand for well-balanced driving comfort and more sportive dynamics.
VOGTLAND sport springs are produced using special oil tempered spring steels of high tensile strength chrome-silicon (CrSi) and chrome-silicon-vanadium (CrSiV) alloys using the cold coiling process. This provides reduced spring weight with high material strength, and the desired effect of uniformly reducing the un-sprung weight of the vehicle - thereby optimizing the handling characteristics.
To ensure years of useful service all VOGTLAND suspension springs are manufactured by utilizing only the finest suspension grade spring alloys and coiled on sophisticated CNC controlled Wafios spring coiling machines. After the cold coiling process, all suspension springs are tempered, shotpeened and preset to ensure consistent vehicle ride height and suspension function. Low grade products will loose length with high dynamic impact. However VOGTLAND springs will not let you down because of their sophisticated presetting program.
